The human brain produces electrical rhythms known as brainwaves. Different frequencies match different mental states: deep sleep (Delta), lucid dreaming (Theta), relaxation (Alpha), active thinking (Beta), and peak focus (Gamma).:

Binaural beats work by playing two slightly different frequencies in each ear. The brain interprets the difference between them as a third beat frequency and gradually begins to synchronize with it. This is known as the frequency-following response.

As this happens, the corpus callosum, which links the two hemispheres of the brain, becomes more engaged. This supports smoother cross-hemispheric communication and can help balance neural activity.

This app, created by musician, animator, and sound designer John Grigsby (GRIGS), is based on years of work with sound interactions, lucid dreaming techniques, and frequency-based cognitive entrainment. It is designed to help users explore deeper rest, better focus, dream states, and self-directed mental awareness using controlled brainwave stimulation.
